CLUBS

The Girls' Glee Club, under the supervision of Miss

Dupree, presented several programs during the year, in-

cluding one on Father's Night. The girls also took part in

annual Music Week, by singing at Bellevue Junior High

on the ninth of May. The season was brought to a grand

climax on May 30th when an operetta, "The Dress Re-

hearsal," was presented before an audience of parents

and students.

An important school activity during the year was

the Junior Red Cross. The members were busy all winter

making afghans and collecting boxes of tinfoil. Christ-

mas the club sent scrapbooks to the Mary Galloway

Home of Memphis, and gifts to the school children and

needy families of Ravenscroft, Tennessee. Letters of ap-

preciation were received from these people.

The band made up of 7th and 8th grade boys and

girls, is a new organization at Snowden, having been be-

gun this year. In uniforms of green and white, the school

colors, the members marched with the other bands in the

Cotton Carnival Parade.
