CLASS

HISTORY

By JANICE DINKINS

We now look back to see ourselves wide eyed with

amazement, as we surely must have been when we en-

tered Snowden Junior High. Some were people who had

attended Snowden before, and still others came from

other schools. During the three years we have spent here,

many more have been welcomed from other cities.

We were all excited over the school activities of our

first year. Assembly, football games, and election of Stu-

dent Government officers were especially thrilling to us.

On

a

following September morn we entered with an

in-between feeling. We were students who watched with

interest the wide-eyed freshmen and the superior seniors.

That year we watched the older students closely, for we

were soon to take their places. It was during this year that

we began to notice our boys shining on the athletic

teams, and feminine hearts began to flutter.

Time, as always, marched on and we became sen-

iors. We, of course, imagined that everything depended

on us and it went to our heads a little bit. However,

spring came and we organized our class, electing Gran-

ville Gates as President. Then everything became a rush.

We sent out an SOS for ads for our annual and a few

became doubtful as to whether they would hold up

under final exams. Some of our studiously inclined be-

gan to cram, but a few depended upon their present

knowledge.

Then it was all over, final exams, our play, and the

exercises. Some looked back to the memories of junior

high days, but still others were looking forward to the

time when they would enter senior high school.
