Barry Residence |
Circa 1832, Thomas L. Moody built a double-log cabin on this land. In 1899 Squire John Lafayette Coopwood, a planter, and his wife, Amoranda Louetta, purchased the property. In 1924, the couple's youngest daughter, Bessie Agnes, married Jack W. Barry, a cotton broker, who served as Germantown Mayor from 1928 to 1954, longer than anyone in the city's history.
